Since 2017, I have had over 2,400 conversations with women in business about money, power, and what technology actually owes us. These essays are where I work that thinking through in real time. Check Your Default Settings is where that thinking landed clearest.

Some are rough. Some have held up better than I expected. I have left them as they were written because watching the standards tighten in public is the point, not a side effect.

Architect of Change: Building a Future Rooted in Equity

I come from a lineage of resilience: women who built lives from the ground up, who led with instinct, intelligence, and grit. Being an Architect of Change is not about simply adapting to what exists. It is about imagining and building something radically better. It means building a cooperative where the newest member and the founder have the same vote.

The Crossing Guard Dream: Diversity Is Power

About five years ago I had a dream. I was walking down a busy city street and a woman of color told me in no uncertain terms: "STOP WALKING." She said it again, louder. And then I understood something I have never forgotten about diversity, power, and who belongs at the helm.
